Ukrainian Food Export Board (UFEB) supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is organizing a trade mission to the People's Republic of China. The trade mission will be hosted in Beijing during one of the largest food exhibitions of Asian region ANUFOOD China 2016, which will take place on November, 16-18.
Participants of the trade mission will be united in the national stand “Ukrainian Food”. Seven Ukrainian companies are planning to attend the exhibition. Among them - the producers of dairy, meat, oil and sugar.
UFEB Chairman Bogdan Shapoval emphasized the broad opportunities that the trade mission gives to Ukrainian exporters.
"China offers great opportunities for export of Ukrainian food, including dairy, meat, sugar and oil, which we will present at the exhibition. We expect that ANUFOOD China 2016 will give us not only general understanding of the market, but also useful business contacts with local wholesale and retail distributors and as a result, export contracts,"- said Shapoval.
The basis of Ukrainian exports to China account for crops (corn) and sunflower oil. Exports of Ukrainian goods to China in January-August in monetary terms amounted to 1.36 billion USD., which is 27% less than the same period last year. Сrops accounted for 31% and vegetable oils - 26% of the abovementioned amount. Others - mostly non-agricultural products. At the same time, imports from China increased by 23% - to 2.89 billion dollars., represented mostly by non-food products.
