The Ukrainian Food Association represented Ukraine at Grüne Woche 2026

From 16 to 25 January 2026, the Ukrainian Food Association took part in the international food exhibition Grüne Woche 2026, which is traditionally held in Berlin and is one of the largest and most prestigious events in the food industry

Format of Participation and Objectives of the Tastings

The Ukrainian Food Association’s stand operated for 10 days, hosting interactive tastings that made it possible to:

• showcase Ukrainian food products to an international audience;
• gather immediate feedback on taste, texture, format, and product potential;
• test the readiness of Ukrainian products for the European market, particularly the German market;
• strengthen confidence in Ukrainian products and Ukraine as a whole;
• lay the groundwork for future sales and the entry of Ukrainian goods into the German market.

During the stand’s operation, 18,000 tastings were conducted and more than 1,720 comments were collected from visitors.

The exhibition space was divided into sweet and savoury zones, ensuring convenient navigation and a high-quality presentation of the products.

Audience Interest

The exhibition was held in a B2C format, with German consumers making up the majority of visitors. At the same time, the stand was frequently visited by buyers and retail representatives from Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, other European Union countries, and Africa.

The following products attracted the greatest interest from the audience:
• freeze-dried vegetables and mushrooms;
• natural snacks and corn-based products;
• marshmallows and functional sweets;
• lollipops;
• marmalade, crackers, and snacks with vibrant flavours;
• savoury products.

International Attention

During the exhibition, video footage was recorded and interviews were conducted for Japanese media, presenting Ukraine as a country that, despite challenging conditions, continues to consistently produce and export high-quality food products.

Conclusions

Grüne Woche 2026 confirmed the strong potential of Ukrainian food products, enabled direct engagement with an international audience, and laid a solid foundation for further export development and the expansion of Ukrainian brands in European markets.
