Trade mission to the Czech Food Expo 2026

Czech Food Expo is the only national food industry trade fair in the Czech Republic, bringing together over 100 producers and brands from across the country every year. The exhibition is primarily focused on the domestic market and serves as a key point of contact with Czech retailers, distributors and industry experts. For Ukrainian producers, taking part in the mission is an opportunity to get to know the market from the inside: to see what products are on offer, how they are positioned, and which partners to look for to further enter the Czech market.

The Czech Republic is a member of the EU and fully complies with the regulatory requirements of the single European market, making it a convenient entry point for companies planning to expand into Central and Eastern Europe. The country’s total agricultural imports in 2023 amounted to US$15.3 billion — 7% more than the previous year. Key trends include growing demand for convenient processed foods, ethnic and specialised foods, as well as openness to new suppliers from non-EU countries. Promising categories for Ukrainian producers include juices and concentrates, confectionery, dairy products, canned goods and ready meals.

A trade mission to Czech Food Expo offers the opportunity to conduct market research in a live setting: to assess the competitive environment, establish initial contacts with potential distributors and importers, and gauge how Ukrainian products are perceived by Czech industry players. An effective strategy for entering the Czech market involves finding a reliable local partner or distributor — it is precisely these players who provide access to retail chains and the HoReCa sector.
