Ukrainian Food Dubai 2019 broadens business horizons
More than 40 representatives from the food industry gathered on 19 February as part of Gulfood 2019. Among the buyers were representatives from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. They were interested in dairy and meat products, confectionery, nuts, seeds, sauces and more.
The event was opened by Olga Trofimtseva, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Bogdan Shapoval, Chairman of the Council on Food Exports, spoke about the prospects for trade development between Ukraine and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Together with Sviatoslav Dubyna, they provided a step-by-step overview of exports to the aforementioned countries.
They also learnt about the business prospects of cooperation with the UAE, whilst Maria Shevchuk told the foreign representatives how to find reliable partners in Ukraine.
The event concluded with a В2B networking session between Ukrainian food producers and international buyers, where everyone had the opportunity to chat in an informal setting.
“Participation in business forums of this kind gives Ukrainian companies the opportunity to engage in close dialogue and establish business relationships with potential foreign partners. For buyers, it is an opportunity to learn more about products manufactured in Ukraine, as well as to hold direct negotiations with the heads of Ukrainian food industry enterprises. Participation in the forum helps to expand the geographical reach of one’s business and provides an opportunity to find reliable partners for both sides,” noted Bohdan Shapoval.
