Specialisation and uniqueness: South Korea’s largest food exhibition and the third largest in Asia, which since 1983 has been the main gateway to the Korean food market and the HoReCa sector. It is organised by Informa Markets — one of the world’s leading organisers of international trade exhibitions. Over more than four decades, the exhibition has become an essential platform for those considering Korea as an export destination: it brings together importers, distributors, retail chain buyers, HoReCa managers and food production purchasers looking for new suppliers.
Korea is a market with a very specific consumer profile: high purchasing power, openness to new products, and steady demand for imported goods in the premium and mid-range segments. At the same time, it is a market where a supplier’s reputation matters just as much as price. Seoul Food & Hotel offers the opportunity to build this reputation face-to-face — through a stand, tastings and direct contact with buyers who would otherwise be inaccessible.
The exhibition’s supporting programme reinforces its significance as an industry event. The Seoul Food & Hotel Culinary Challenge is an international chefs’ competition featuring 18 categories, jointly organised by the Korea Chefs Association and officially supported by Worldchefs, the global association of culinary professionals. For food producers, this means sharing the stage with the country’s top chefs — the people who shape demand for specific ingredients and products within the Korean HoReCa sector. Running separately are the Biz-Matching business programme, an industry conference, and the Seoul Food Awards — accolades recognising the exhibition’s finest participants.
For Ukrainian producers, Seoul Food & Hotel 2027 is an exhibition with a clear rationale: South Korea is one of Asia’s most attractive markets, offering a combination of strong purchasing power, openness to imports and a stable regulatory environment. Entering this market without a physical presence at a key industry event is a much longer process. Participating alongside the U-Food Association provides additional support during the preparation stage and positions Ukrainian producers as an organised and reliable group of suppliers.
